ANNOUNCEMENT: Big Sister
April 1st, 2009Carleigh is going to be a big sister!
WHAT?!?!?!
Today is our first day of snowboarding, and boy was it amazing! Last night it dumped between 7-10″ of new snow on us, and it stayed cold cold cold! This is the type of storm you pray for on a trip like this. It was clear for the drive up, stormed the day before our boarding days, and was only partly cloudy during the day so we were treated to many breathtaking views of the lake. It was a bit windy on a couple of the lifts, but nothing our clothes weren’t prepared for!
You wish you were here.
Amazing snow on the trees with amazing blue shades when the clouds were away.
Yesterday we left for Lake Tahoe for our week long trip to the snow! We’ll be snowboarding at Heavenly (www.skiheavenly.com) and having a blast. Carleigh was simply amazing for the drive up! She was only fussy a couple of times when she was hungry and didn’t bother our guests.
We were toting up a lot of luggage, so we borrowed an F250 for the trip, which made the drive comfortable, safe, and although it was a 10 hour drive (including stops) it only seemed like a 4 hour drive! We had 4 adults, their equipment, Carleigh, her “stuff” as well as Tiffany’s family’s ski equipment in the truck. It totaled 5 big cases of luggage, the car seat, “pack and play”, 3 backpacks, 7 snowboards, and 1 pair of skis. All this, and 18 miles per gallon (not calculated… but we will on the return trip)!
Does Carleigh like the snow?

My good buddy Lou invited me in a StingSport for a quick lunch time flight. The weather was perfect and having flown the plane only Monday, Lou was itching to get up in the air again. I was the lucky invite to fly passenger today and I couldn’t say no!
Not quite a 700 series… Not quite a perfect game…
