Adventures in Potty Training Luke

Thursday, March 29th, 2012

Well, there have been no updates because it must have just been time for Luke… He just spent three days with his friend Jackson and his parents at Disneyland and I am told he only woke up one morning wet, but made it to the bathroom the whole time!!! I really thank the first thread I read when I finally figured out what to do with Carleigh and I have to thank Carleigh too. Without her I don’t think Luke would have had as much motivation to really use the toilet. I am so happy it was easier the second time around. Goodbye diapers!

The Adventure in Potty Training Luke

Thursday, March 8th, 2012

So over the last week we have not been able to stay home ALL day to dedicate time to potty training, but Luke is picking it up… He only had two accidents today and he is starting to get the hang of holding it in, so he can go about an hour to an hour and a half between using the potty. His accidents now have turned into realizing he has to pee too late and he is walking to the toilet but doesn’t make it. I just need to get him to tell me where it happened instead of searching for it. LoL. He loves his big boy underwear and has gotten into the habit of taking his night time pull up off first thing in the morning for his undies… I hope the progress keeps up. This is just so much better than the first round… at least so far.

Adventures in Potty Training Round 2

Thursday, March 1st, 2012

Luke has been showing promise over the last month by consistently using the toilet before a bath, bed or just random times so I have been telling Luke that when his diapers are gone he won’t have them anymore… This morning was it. He woke up to see no diapers and after a brief moment of disappointment I told him that he was going to be a big boy now and he needed to go potty on the toilet. He proceeded to sit on the toilet (while he ate his poptart) and peed a little so I busted out the Mickey Mouse underwear. He was so incredibly excited he ran straight to daddy to show him.

I have heard that boys are much harder to get going, but I am hoping that having an older sibling will help push him along a little bit. I guess we will find out!

Luke is 1

Thursday, November 18th, 2010

So this is quite delayed, but Luke is now 1! He is quite the opposite of his big sister… He is walking across the room by himself now and even tried his hand at running today. He is definitely the typical boy – he loves cars, balls, blocks and puzzles. He is a whopping 31 3/4″ tall now and weighs 22lbs. His only word is Hi, but it is hilarious to hear him say it when he waves. He continues to amaze me every day and I love spending time with my kiddos.

Catching Up

Monday, September 27th, 2010

So the picture a week failed miserably at some point I just ended up forgetting about it. A lot has happened since my last post and we are beginning to embark on new roads…

Carleigh and Luke are growing like weeds. Luke is already at the brink in his 12month sized clothes and fits comfortably in most 18 month sized stuff. He now has six teeth, the last four all came in at the same time (no fun) and he is standing up on his own and will try taking several steps unassisted… I am sure it won’t be long until he just takes off. Carleigh is finally starting to outgrow her 2T clothes at least in the tops, her shorts and pants are perfect for the time being. She now also sings her alphabet and can count to 14.

A few weeks ago Mat and I took the kiddos to the Zoo for the umpteenth time and it is amazing to see the changes in the kids actions. Carleigh now likes to find the animals in their exhibits and count them while Luke is now showing interest in the animals (at least the brightly colored ones).

In any case, I plan on writing a bit more about the kids, if nothing else, to be able to go back later and re-live their developments.
